Advantest confirms cybersecurity incident, investigates potential ransomware deployment

Advantest Corporation has confirmed it is responding to a cybersecurity incident that may have affected parts of its internal network. The Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company disclosed the cyberattack on February 19, noting that the situation is under active investigation and details could change as new information emerges, The Cyber Express reports.

The incident was first detected on February 15, when Advantest identified unusual activity within its IT environment. The company immediately activated its incident response protocols, isolating affected systems and engaging third-party cybersecurity experts.
