Adobe announced Friday that it intends to release its quarterly updates next week for Reader X (10.1.1) and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh, and Acrobat X (10.1.1) and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh, to resolve critical security issues. The existing vulnerabilities, if exploited, could allow malicious code to execute, at times without users being aware, Adobe said. The updates are due Tuesday and will include a fix for a vulnerability that already was patched in Reader and Acrobat versions 9, which were more susceptible to the issue.
