UK National Cyber Security Centre CEO Richard Horne urged governments, industry, and allies to mount a sustained, collective "full court press" against increasingly prevalent and complex cybersecurity threats, reports The Record, a news site by cybersecurity firm Recorded Future.
With cyber risks having "greater consequence than ever before" due to the growing collaboration between state-sponsored and cybercriminal actors, action across "near, mid, and far" spaces of defense is necessary, from strengthening organizational systems and securing shared infrastructure to disrupting attackers directly on their own networks, said Horne at the RSA 2026 Conference.
Practical measures already underway include sharing malicious links with ISPs to block harmful traffic and dismantling hostile infrastructure with partners. Horne stressed the need for international cooperation, targeted regulation to drive security investment, and pushing tech companies to build more secure software by design.
His remarks echoed U.S. officials who say the country's new national cyber strategy demands allies work together to impose greater costs on adversaries and leverage the private sector at scale.
