Accenture plans $5 billion in acquisitions over the next year

Accenture is preparing to invest $5 billion in acquisitions within the next year, according to CEO Julie Sweet. The IT consulting and services firm has been actively pursuing mergers and acquisitions to expand its capabilities and market reach, as first reported by Channel Dive.

During its Q4 2026 earnings call, Accenture CEO Julie Sweet announced the company's intention to commit $5 billion to acquisitions in the upcoming year. This follows a significant investment of $1.9 billion in M&A during the final quarter of fiscal year 2026, excluding $3 billion related to cybersecurity platform investments. Recent acquisitions include the software supply chain security platform NetRise, operational security platform Dragos, and a surface management platform.

Sweet highlighted significant opportunities in high-growth areas like data and AI, as well as expansion into new markets through strategic acquisitions. The company's aggressive M&A strategy has historically expanded its technical capabilities and rewarded investors. Accenture's Q4 and fiscal year revenues increased 6% year over year, reaching $18.7 billion and $74.2 billion respectively. Net new bookings grew 4% to $22.2 billion in the recent quarter, during which the firm also launched a new midmarket business unit, Accenture Edge, formed from several key acquisitions.
