What it takes
There are certain “must haves,” such as certification in Encase and FTK. An EnCE or CCE certification wouldn't hurt and likely will get you more money. As far as college, a BS in either computer science, information technology or computer forensics is necessary. Finally, an advanced understanding of mobile/PDA forensics, data collection, chain of custody procedure and forensic lab best practices is needed.Compensation
